The answer is really simple: You have to literally GUIDE them through your copy by telling them what to do!

Keeping The Flow Flowing
As simple as this technique seems, great copywriting legends like Gary Halbert used to use it all the time. Why? Mainly because it kept the copy flowing for the reader. People are busy and chances are they’ll be busy when they come across your letter.Thanks to all the distractions of today, it’s easy to get sidetracked. Normally, this is understandable. But when you’ve written a sales letter with a CTA that asks for money at the end of it, you’ll begin to develop an anathema for any distractions!
(by the way, anathema is another word for hate – Thanks, Ivan Nua!).
Besides, what if you have a long-form written sales letter? Long form letters can be anywhere from 10-30 pages (sometimes MORE!). If it wasn’t for added little blurbs like (go to the next page) or (over), it would be much harder to keep your reader’s attention.
(Come on, GO with it – LOL)
Another reason why these little blurbs are powerful, as Halbert explains in his book “The Boron Letters,” is this:
“…it’s the little touches like this that keeps the letter flowing…and, it relieves him of the burden of trying to figure out where he’s supposed to do when he finishes reading a particular page.”
Halbert also writes that you need to “work hard to make reading your letter pleasant, easy read, interesting and unconfusing,” (Ch.12). With little direction blurbs, you do just that.
